Love Week

18 Feb

My friend Almi hosts some of the best intimate parties this side of town. For her birthday, she opened her apartment to us and served home-cooked food. What made last Saturday’s party even more fun were the kiddie elements: masks, balloons,  pinwheels, and her improvised photo booth.

We also played a stacking game…

…and Pictionary, the new “Best Game Ever” in my book :-D Depending on the cards you get, you can draw the classic way, draw with your eyes closed,  guide your clueless teammate’s hand, draw on your teammate’s back, describe figures for your teammate to draw, or position your teammate’s body instead of drawing. Fun, yes?

Losers each got a shot of tequila.

We had a blast making fun of each other’s drawings.  They had a blast making fun of my drawings.

This, my friends, is a cheetah. My teammates got this one right, uh huh.

My owl versus Kate's. I was going for Hedwig but ended up with a chubby pentapus (an octopus with five tentacles).

Swan. In my defense, I drew this with my eyes closed. LOL.

There were “pang-varsity” moments, as Kate describes them.

I instructed Kim to draw a popsicle stick without the bottom curve. From that, Almi correctly got "fence."

And from this we got "hen." Award!

I call for a rematch!

Of course this entry has something about Valentine’s. I wasn’t feeling very sprightly early that day because if the impeachment hearing got adjourned late again (Ian, who covers the trial, finished work at 9 p.m. the previous night), Ian and I wouldn’t be able to go on a date. Pero dahil gusto ni Senator Enrile na happy tayo, tinapos niya ang hearing nang maaga. Thank you, senator!

One for each month of the year :-)

Pick-up line of the month:

Him: Uy, tumama pala ako sa Lotto.

Me: Weh.

Him: Oo, nung 2010 (year we became a couple).

Yiheee…

The BWorld researchers had a little something for me, too :-)

I’d like to think I also made them happy that day.

My farewell treat: 36-inch pizza

Yep, I said goodbye to BWorld the day after Valentine’s. On Thursday, I said hello to…

But I didn’t start work right away (I’m now senior public affairs officer). I and dozens of other newbies attended orientation and immersion activities the past two days. We sat through presentations, made collages, had a dance showdown (yes), sold Smart products to sari-sari stores, visited a server site, and played with the latest gadgets at the Jump center in SM Megamall. I was tired but happy to have made new friends (and amused that many of them thought I’m a fresh grad. Guys, high school pa lang kayo e nagtatrabaho na ako :-D ). Now I’m so excited to start work on Monday with two of my favorite people, college friends Elvin and Aloi, who also made me a welcome poster:

You know you're in good hands when...

It’s gonna be funnn.

    LOL CYRIL VS CYFAKE.
VARSITY REMATCH! Kung makakarami tayo ng Pictionary, makakabuo tayo ng “Best Of” album. Just sayin’.
